This excursion offers an immersive exploration of Greenland’s cultural history combined with scenic experiences in the region surrounding Nuuk. The tour consists of a boat journey into Godthåbsfjorden, with the former fishing settlement of Qoornoq as its destination.

Upon arrival in Qoornoq, participants take part in a guided tour focusing on the settlement’s historical development and its role in Greenland’s modernization process. Particular emphasis is placed on the societal changes associated with the centralization of the fishing industry, including how local communities adapted to shifts in fish stocks and living conditions.

The visit includes the local church as well as viewpoints overlooking the surrounding fjord landscape. Today, Qoornoq is primarily used as a summer residence area, offering a unique perspective on both its historical significance and contemporary use.

Following the visit, participants return to Nuuk by boat. The excursion is structured to allow sufficient time ashore for both guided interpretation and individual exploration, ensuring a well-balanced and cohesive experience.

    The tour is led by an English-speaking captain and guide and takes place on a private boat equipped with a heated cabin, restroom, and all necessary safety gear.
